I am Looking to Find out what different size main gears and pinion are available for the Bergen helicopters

I am looking in to converting a second heli that will be available to me soon from a gasser to an electric machine I would like to know the gear ratios available to be abale to select the proper motor and battery config for this project

besides what is mounted on a standard eb gasser are there any other options

We only have 90 tooth main gears for that heli, with 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 tooth pinions available.

thanks chris

for the info will start the calculation with Gary's new Z70 motor

also looking at Steve Neu motors fro this project

for a ship running 800 - 810 mm mains

http://www.readyheli.com/Online_Headspeed_Calculator_s/81.htm

10Sp1 37volts
90 main
14 pinion
motor 355 kv hacker A50-12L
target head speed of 1839

10Sp1 37volts
90 main
11 pinion
motor 450 kv Neu 1915/1.5Y
target head speed of 1832

10Sp1 37volts
90 main
10 pinion
motor 565 kv Z50A-600
target head speed of 2091
would have to use low governor mode with the CC85HV or 110

10Sp1 37volts
90 main
12 pinion
motor 415 kv Kohler Actro 32-4 Heli
target head speed of 1843
would have to use low governor mode with the CC85HV or 110

10Sp1 37volts
90 main
12 pinion
motor 435 kv Z70A 435 KV variant
target head speed of 1931
would have to use low governor mode with the CC85HV or 110

these were calculated using LIPO numbers for a 10s pack
for a A123 setup of 10s the calculation have to be made using a 9s lipo pack

sharing some info with fellow bergen owners

Wow. 1800 and higher headpseeds with 800-810mm blades.....

For that size blade, and a total flying weight of no more than 25 Lbs, the headspeed should be no more than 1650. IMHO of course.
